Why was QMS acquired by ASD?
To ensure our position as the leader in gage interfaces, expand our distribution channels and enhance our product line with proven SPC data collectors.
Where is QMS now located?
QMS was acquired by ASD, an 20+ year old SPC company headquartered in Troy, MI, with an office in Macedon, NY.
ASD's solutions include SPC Software, industrial PCs and
gage interfaces (acquired from Gage
Connections 3 years ago). For nearly a decade, we have been
providing OEM cables and interfaces
to major gage manufacturers such as Mahr/Federal and many
others.
What are ASD’s long-term plans?
To continue development of SPC data collection solutions,
develop new interfaces and cables as
new gages are introduced, provide support to the distribution
channel and solve customer needs.
ASD will continue the commitment QMS had to its distributors
and customers and will protect the
territories of its new distributors.
Will prices change?
There will be no changes to the price list or discount schedule;
it’s "business as usual." Any existing
quotes will be honored; there will be no need to re-quote
customers.
How will the Genesis 1000 series and MGI products be affected?
We will be updating the MGI to work easily with any software,
including Software Wedge. QMS
products (Genesis 1000 and MGI) will be manufactured
in Troy, MI.
Have the cable manufacturing and support facilities moved?
Yes. They are in the Detroit area, but ASD will provide the
same quality as QMS. ASD has
experienced staff for handling repairs, assembly and ongoing
engineering and support.
What additional product lines will be available?
ASD's ShopTouch line of Industrial PC's and GageMux and SmartCable
gage interfaces.
